Malaika Arora has issued an official statement on behalf of the family over her father’s death. According to reports, Anil Arora died by suicide. Taking to her Instagram post on Wednesday, Malaika requested media through the post to give them some privacy at this hour of grief. Mumbai police confirmed the cause of death to be falling from the 6th floor of the building.

The statement read,
“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect. With gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, Axl, Duffy, and Buddy Anil Kuldip Mehta 22/02/1962–11/09/2024 (sic).”
Earlier the same day, Varun Dhawan pointed out the Paparazzi for putting the camera on grieved people and stated their action to be insensitive.
Varun’s post, “It is the most insensitive thing to point cameras in the face of people who are grieving, please.”
He added, “Please consider what you are doing and how it affects those in mourning. I understand it’s your job, but remember that people might not be comfortable with this.” Varun even added the hashtag #humanity in his post.
Kareena Kapoor At Malaika’s Father’s Residence

Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen entering Malaika’s father’s residence after hearing his death news on Wednesday. Her husband, Saif Ali Khan, was also there with her to offer prayers.
Many celebrities were seen, including Arjun Kapoor, her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan, Chunky Pandey, and his daughter Ananya Panday. The Khan family also arrived at Anil’s residence. The time Sohail Khan, along with parents Salim Khan and Salman Khan, arrived at the location, the photographers gathered to click them.
According to sources, Joyce informed the police about the daily routine of Anil. She said every morning Anil had the habit of reading the newspaper and sitting on the balcony. Although they divorced a long time ago, she used to stay with him for the past few years. When she saw Anil’s slipper in the living area, she went to check on him on the balcony.
DCP Crime Branch, Raj Tilak Roshan, took to the media that Anil’s body had been sent for a post-mortem. He further added the team and forensics are investigating the situation very well. He said,
“The body of one Anil Mehal who was 62 was found. He resided on the 6th floor. We are carrying out further investigation, and our team is here. We are investigating all angles in detail. Our teams are here; forensic teams are here as well. The body is being taken for postmortem. We are investigating everything in detail. Prime facie, it seems to be suicide; we are conducting further investigation.”
Malaika was not present at the moment her father passed away. She returned from Pune to Mumbai after she got the news. Many celebrities showed their condolences to the family and offered support.
