This is story of Mangal Singh, 33, who lives in Hapud Kotwali police station area. It was quite a day for the Punjab National Bank manager and other staff in Hapur on Saturday. After Mangal Singh showed up at Punjab National Bank, located in Hapur, Western UP, the bank was in a state of utter confusion.

The Whole Incident

Mangal Singh went to bank’s Garh road branch and said he wanted to withdraw Rs 150 crore from his account. The man was carrying four gunnysacks to carry back the cash. He filled the withdrawal form as many of the bank’s staff looked with curiosity. The cashier informed the bank manager. They immediately told Mangal Singh that they cannot give so much money.

Singh had earlier approached a police station to seek security cover to ferry the cash back home. He wanted police protection!

However, the bank manager probed Singh’s account and found out that it had been lying defunct since 2016 and had no money. When the access was denied Mangal Singh started abusing the cashier. When security guard present there tried to calm him down, he beat him and even torn the guard’s clothes.

Bank security tried to whisk him away but he refused to budge. After he tried to assault the security guard, police were called in. He was detained briefly before his family arrived at the local police station and claimed that Singh was mentally unstable. He was let off without any charges. It’s sad that he is living in a delusional world due to some mental condition, even celebrities. A lot of people have many such conditions. Mental health is equally important to physical health and we should spread awareness for the same. What do you think about this incident? Let us know in the comments below.
