Its Match 20 of Vivo IPL 2018. The top half of the table play as Sunrisers Hyderabad host the Chennai Super Kings. Check out Kane Williamson’s and Ambati Rayudu’s amazing innings.
Build Up
The home team Sunrisers is placed number 4, having lost their last match will be looking to get back on to winning form. On the other hand, CSK went to the 2nd position as they beat the Rajasthan Royals by a massive margin in their last game.
Toss
The team from Chennai made one change as Imran Tahir who was sick for the match was replaced by his countryman, Faf du Plessis. Dhawan was replaced by Ricky Bhui. SRH won the toss and elected to bowl.
Super Kings’ Batting
Chennai started off terribly as both their openers were back in the hut fairly early. Rayudu and Suresh Raina who was good in the last match looked to steady the ship. Raina scored a crucial half-century on this slow pitch.
But it was Ambati Rayudu’s superb knock as he scored 79 in just 37 balls, hitting 9 fours and 6 maximums. Dhoni gave the finishing touches as he hit 25 in just 12 balls to take Chennai to 182 at the loss of 3 wickets.
SRH’s Bowling
Having a good bowling attach, SRH will be looking to restrict CSK to a low total. The bowlers started on high giving away just 30 runs in the first 7 overs getting 2 wickets. Both Suresh Raina and Rayudu made it difficult for the bowlers as they got in and started scoring freely on the really slow-paced pitch. Except for Rashid Khan, all the bowlers bowled economically.
In the end overs, things out of the bowlers’ hands as both the batsmen hit boundaries at regular intervals. The home team gave away a few unnecessary runs as the CSK set a decent total.
Sunrisers’ Chase
The home team started off really poorly as they lost two of their batsmen for a duck. With a big target ahead, the Hyderabad team needed a captain’s knock from Kane Williamson. The team kept on losing wickets regularly without scoring any significant amount of runs. Kane Williamson’s brilliant innings gave the home team some hope but there was no one else supporting him at the other end. Despite Yusuf’s and Williamson’s best efforts, they couldn’t take their team over the line as SRH tasted defeat.
CSK’s Bowling
The bowlers started off well getting two wickets inside the first two overs containing the flow of runs as well. It was Deepak Hooda who was caught in Chahar’s web as he went back to the pavilion. Chennai was in a commanding position. Deepak Chahar bowled brilliantly, getting 3 giving away just 15 runs in his 4 overs.
Chennai Super Kings got in a spot of bother as Williamson hit the bowlers all around the park. Some nervous moments for the CSK bowlers towards the end and Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan took the match right down to the wire but in the end, it was CSK’s bowlers who prevailed as they won by just 4 runs.
Man Of The Match
It was Ambati Rayudu’s match-winning knock that took CSK to victory as he hit 79 in 37 balls.
