Toss

Sunrisers’ Collapse
Sunrisers got off to a really poor start as they lost Dhawan and Saha in the second over. Williamson who opened the innings looked to give the team some stability with Manish Pandey but not long after Pandey hit one straight in the hands of Rohit Sharma as he went back to the pavilion. It was a collapse for the away team as they lost 4 wickets in the powerplay scoring just 46. Yusuf Pathan tried his best to get the team to a defendable score but the team could only manage 118 losing all their wickets. Kane Williamson is the new holder of the Orange Cap.
Mumbai Indian’s Bowling
The bowlers started on high getting the crucial wicket of Shikhar Dhawan. Mitchell McClenaghan got 2 wickets in his very first over to put SRH on the backfoot. Not only did MI restrict the flow of runs but also got wickets regularly. All the bowlers bowled well. Hardik Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Markande grabbed 2 wickets each to restrict SRH to the lowest total of the season. Markande has the Purple cap back with him.
Mumbai’s Batting
With a low total to chase, Mumbai will be looking to get to the victory quickly to get a good net run rate as well. Mumbai got off to a poor start on this difficult batting pitch. Both Lewis and Ishan Kishan were back in the hut inside 4 overs. The start was definitely not what Mumbai would have wanted. They lost their skipper as well inside the powerplay. Mumbai Indians just can’t get out of their unlucky losing streak. Despite chasing the lowest total, Mumbai Indians played without any confidence and just lost wickets without showing any intent and that’s what has been the downfall of Mumbai Indians. This was their 5th loss in 6 games. Mumbai Indians with their batting line up struggled to get even 119 runs.
SRH’s Bowling
Sunrisers’ strong point is their bowling but they don’t have many to play with this time around. Both the opening bowlers got a wicket each in the first 4 overs, giving some hope to their fans. SRH trying to defend such a small total and the only way to do it was early wickets and they got that from their bowlers. 3 batsmen were back in just 6 overs giving away just 22 runs. Without Bhuvi and Stanlake, Sunrisers showed class in their bowling taking wickets at regular intervals without giving runs away. All the bowlers chipped in and played their part. Rashid Khan who bowled brilliant got 2 wickets giving away just 11 runs in his 4 overs. Siddarth Kaul also bowled well to get 3 wickets giving away just 23 runs in his 4 overs. SRH defended the second lowest total ever in IPL as they won by 31 runs.
