12 May 2018 brought two IPL matches for the fans. In Match 44, KKR beat KXIP. And, now it was time for the second match. Delhi Daredevils faced the mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 45. DD bat first and set the score of 181 runs in 20 overs. Chasing the total, RCB stumbled in the beginning but thanks to Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers, RCB pulled off the victory.
DD Started Slow In Match 45
Winning the toss, RCB elected to bowl first. DD lost both of its openers within the first three overs. Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant took charge of the business and held their end while also keeping the scoreboard running. They took the score to 44/2 in first six overs.
Rishabh Pant Scored Half Century
Rishabh Pant continued his form and hit a half-century. He made 61 runs off 34 runs. He hit 5 fours and 4 sixes. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer contributed 32 runs.
Abhishek Sharma Took The Team To A Fighting Total
In the late overs, Abhishek Sharma played some good shots. He made unbeaten 46 runs and his inning included 3 fours and 4 gigantic sixes. He took the score of DD to 181/4 till the end of 20 overs.
RCB Openers Could Not Do Much
Likewise DD, RCB also started slow and lost both of its openers within the first three overs. But thanks to Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers they added runs for the team and also stood like a wall before the wickets. They scored 58 runs in the powerplay overs.
Kohli Smashed 70 Runs
The fielding restrictions were over after the powerplay but the tough time for DD bowlers was far from being over. The captain Virat Kohli played the spectacular inning of 70 runs in 40 balls. After the end of 15 overs, the score was 147/3. And, RCB required 35 runs in the last five overs.
AB De Villiers Made The DD Bowlers Pay
AB De Villiers hammered the ball away multiple times. He made unbeaten 72 runs in 37 balls. His inning encompassed 4 fours and 6 sixes. He led the team to victory by 5 wickets in 19 overs. For his amazing inning, he was chosen as the man of the match.
