After an enthusiastic match between KKR and RR, Match 59, IPL 2018 took place at Eden Gardens. The match was between Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR won the toss and they decided to bowl first. Here’s how the match unveiled.

The bowlers for the match were Shivam Mavi (4.0), Prasidh Krishna (4.0), Andre Russell (1.0), Sunil Narine (4.0), Piyush Chawla (3.0) and Kuldeep Yadav (4.0). Kuldeep Yadav dismissed two wickets. Shivam Mavi, Sunil Narine, and Piyush Chawla dismissed one wicket each. The most runs were scored in Prasidh Krishna’s overs. When they hit the 20 over mark, SRH had scored 174 runs. They had dismissed 7 wickets by then.

Wriddhiman Saha scored 35 off 27 balls with 4 boundaries. Following him, Shikhar Dhawan scored 34 off 24 balls with 4 boundaries and a sixer. Rashid Khan (not out) scored a stunning 34 runs off just 10 balls with 2 boundaries and 4 super sixers. The batsmen did a good job and scored 174 runs at the end of 20 overs for 7 wickets.

Chris Lynn scored 48 runs off 31 balls with 6 boundaries and 2 sixers. Shubman Gill scored 30 runs off 20 balls with 2 boundaries and a sixer. Sunil Narine scored 26 and Nitish Rana scored 22. Piyush Chawla scored 12 and the others including Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell and Shivam Mavi were all dismissed for single digits. Kuldeep Yadav was a duck out. At the end of the 20 over mark, KKR had scored 160 runs for 9 wickets. They could not reach the target set by SRH.

Rashid Khan is on a fire recently and he took 3 wickets in this game. He bowled 4 overs and gave only 19 runs! Carlos Brathwaite did a great job as well. He bowled 2 overs and dismissed 2 wickets and gave only 15 runs. Siddarth Kaul took 2 wickets and Shakib Al Hasan dismissed one wicket. The bowlers were able to put pressure on the batsmen and they defended their score very well. SRH won the match by 14 runs.

It was an exciting victory for SRH. They will be facing CSK in the Finals of IPL 2018. Match 59 did not end well for KKR. We are all eagerly waiting for the final showdown between SRH and CSK.
