After the Indian Premier League marked its beginning with an outstanding opening ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai today, the stadium was the field to the first match of this IPL Season 11th Edition. Mayank Markande and DJ Bravo were the heroes of today’s match.
The match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians was definitely an engaging one and had the fans glued to the field till the end. When 50 runs needed in last 3 overs, it was all about DJ Bravo show. Let’s check out how did the match 1 go.

Chennai Super Kings marked its victory on the home ground of the opponent team by 1 wicket. CSK undoubtedly made the best possible entry in the IPL after a gap of two years.

It was Chennai Supers Kings who had won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Details Of The Match
Mumbai Indians set a quite decent target of 166 runs in 20 overs. However, Chennai Super Kings beat them by making 169 runs. Chennai was initially in tension when they got their 7 wickets down, one after the other in the first 15 overs.
Dwayne Bravo, The Savior
However, it was Dwayne Bravo who scored half a century and brought the team back into the game. The team was in need of 27 runs in two overs. This almost impossible challenge was covered up by Bravo single-handedly. He got the match score to 7 runs needed off 7 balls. There was a huge remorse among the CSK fans when the player got out after making 68 runs off 30 balls.
Apart from Bravo’s play in the game, Kedar Jadhav, in spite of being injured due to a hamstring, set his foot firm on the pitch to score the penultimate balls of the match innings.
He came in to bat and managed to hit a six off the fourth ball in the final over and then hit a four, taking the team to its victory.

Mayank Markande portrayed amazing skills and definitely gave CSK a hard spell of spin bowling, taking down 3 wickets. Undoubtedly, the Man Of The Match title was awarded to none other than the star player of the match, Dwayne Bravo.
