Van Gogh once said, “I would rather die of passion than boredom.” Passion is an intense energy that feeds and satisfies our soul. One such is the case of an enthusiastic woman, Zoreen Kabani. Originally hailing from Pakistan to currently residing in Las Vegas, Zoreen Kabani made an unexpected career shift in 2022 which made her earn seven figures by following her true passion. She spent almost 13 years working in the finance sector. Zoreen left her high-paying finance job at prestigious companies like Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase to feel satisfied and contented.

Zoreen Kabani had always assumed that she would follow a traditional professional career path just like her parents did. According to her culture, there was a cultural norm in Pakistan that “you are either in finance or you are an engineer or a doctor.” She did follow one of those regular paths for the first ten or so years of her professional life. Kabani pursued a career in finance while obtaining her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She started working at Goldman Sachs in 2010 and then shifted to JPMorgan Chase in 2013. “But I never felt fulfilled,” she told CNBC Make It. In April 2022, she made a courageous choice to leave her job and pursue something creative or meaningful in life. Her Risk taking ability brought her into the Land Of Fulfilment
From A Period Of Boredom To A Land Of Fulfilment
After a few months, she was introduced to the Whatnot auction app by her younger brother. In this platform, vendors livestream auctions of both new and used goods, including baseball cards and electronics. Kabani was immediately drawn to the app’s women’s fashion section and became deeply engrossed in it. Within a month, she launched her first page, Zkstyles, through which she frequently earned more than $100,000 per month. Following her first live stream, Zoreen Kabani used her sales skills to locate approximately 50 items to sell at thrift stores and clearance sales. During the initial stream, she drew nearly 50 viewers, out of which around 20 to 30 of them bought from her.

Kabani started receiving intense payments after scheduling a few more streams. She even gave free fashion advice to her customers. “My whole goal was to not dip into my savings,” she says, “and I was able to do that with my Whatnot streams.” After trusting her gut, within a few months, she decided to turn her side gig into a full-time job. She started giving proper intense hours to her start-up. “I probably have 15-hour days,” she says of her hectic schedule. But she enjoys what she does.
According to her profile, Kabani has sold more than 75,000 items on her online platform so far.
“It’s my business and I’m having so much fun playing with clothing.” At the end of the day, all we crave is a feeling of fulfillment and content. Working hard for something we love is called Passion.
