Threads’ rapid growth has begun to taper off; Meta is pushing forward with more updates and features for its users. Threads recently got an update to better compete with X. The company rolled out an option for a chronological feed and automatic translations. The CEO added that more new features on the social platform are coming soon.
Furthermore, Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced a bunch of new updates. They include a new way to filter notifications in activity, a button to quickly follow your followers, and a quick way to approve follower requests. The features will include search capabilities and the web version of the app.
There’s now a way to subscribe to users who, for whatever reason, you don’t want to follow, so you’ll receive a notification every time they post.

In a Town Hall meeting last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is planning for more “retention-driving hooks” and features to keep users from fleeing away.

Zuckerberg further posted on threads, “A good week for Threads.” He added, “The community here is on the trajectory I expect to build a vibrant long-term app.” Zuckerberg was spotted saying, “Obviously, if you have more than 100 million people sign up, ideally, it would be awesome if all of them or even half of them stuck around. We’re not there yet.”

He further added that the drop-off was normal, and he expects retention to grow as the company introduces new features. Threads picked up a lot of users in the first week of its release, partly thanks to its close integration with Instagram. This makes it easy to create an account with pretty much an instant community. Moreover, after recent disruptions at Twitter since Elon Musk’s acquisition of the company in the month of October. This move has left many users frustrated and looking for an alternative social media platform.

In conclusion, Threads are trying its best to acquire the Twitter audience and take over social media. Are you a threads user? Which app do you use, Twitter or Threads? Let us know your thoughts on the topic discussed in the comment section below. Stay tuned for further updates.
