A high-speed rail route, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, would run through 12 stations and connect Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This train project is currently under construction, and the deadline for this project is December 2023. This high-speed bullet train will cover 508.09 km with 12 stations on its way, including major cities such as Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The project is projected to cut travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to 2 hours and 7 minutes. Providing passengers with a speedier and more effective form of transit. However, the train will halt in 10 cities: Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati. But the government has faced backlash and criticism for this project because of its high cost, about 2 lakh crore, and its negative environmental impact.
