Mumbai Indian Bowlers Could Not Make A Good Start
Winning the toss, Indian decided to bowl first. However, the bowlers could not give the desired start for Mumbai Indians. And, the opposition scored 49 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay overs. In the seventh over, Mumbai Indian got the opportunity to celebrate as Lokesh Rahul was caught by Duminy.
Chris Gayle Knocked A Half-Century
But the threat was in the form of Chris Gayle. Chris Gayle completed his half-century but got taken out immediately after that. However, KXIP still managed to put 123/3 in 15 overs. After a few hits from Marcus Stoinis, KXIP added 51 runs in the next five overs while eventually setting a score of 174/6 in 20 overs.
The Chase Began
Chasing the fighting total of KXIP, Mumbai Indians had a decent start. Till the end of powerplay overs, they scored 39/1. Mujeeb Ur Rehman got the break in his first over and broke the opening partnership of Mumbai Indians.
Suryakumar Yadav’s Performance Of The Match
Suryakumar Yadav played a beautiful inning. He scored 57 runs with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixers. With the help of Yadav’s half-century, Mumbai Indians scored 87/2 in 12 overs and got one step closer to the target. However, it was still too far as they required 88 runs in the remaining 8 overs. No doubt, he contributed the most for this victory, so he was selected as man of the match.
Mumbai Indians Sealed The Deal
Krunal Pandeya and Rohit Sharma made the save in the nick of the time. Rohit Sharma played a few big hits and made 24 runs, on the other hand, Krunal Pandeya knocked 32 runs in 12 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. And, sealed the deal for Mumbai Indians in 19 overs.
