6. Basgo Monastery
Located in Basgo in Leh District, The Monastery was built for Namgyal rulers in 1680. Situated on top of the hill, the monastery is noted for the statue of Buddha and Murals.
7. Hundar Monastery
The Hundar Monastery is located near the Hundar village in the Nubra valley which is one of the most exotic places in Ladakh. This is a perfect place to refresh you.
8. Diskit Monastery
Located in the Nubra Valley, Diskit Monastery was founded in 14th century by Changzem Tserab Zangpo. According to Mongol mythology, this is the place where an anti-Buddhist demon was killed. It is also believed that some parts of the demon are still buried there and time after time the demon resurrects.
9. Spituk Monastery
Located at an average elevation of 3,307 meters, the Spituk Monastery was founded by Od-de, the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od in the 11th century. Each year Gustor Festival is celebrated in the monastery from 27-29 November.
10. Shey Monastery
The Shey Monastery was built by The King of Ladakh, Deldan Namgyal back in 1655. The condition of the monastery is not good. Therefore the restoration work is in the progress. The prime fascination in the monastery is the giant statue of Shakyamuni Buddha.
