There is hardly anyone in India who don’t know the legend, Amitabh Bachchan. Born on 11th October 1942, Allahabad, Amitabh Bachchan won numerous awards in his entire career. Superstar Of The Millennium award in 2000, First actor to receive Lifetime Achievement Award in 1991 to name a few. He worked on more than 200 movies. Most of them are blockbusters and Superhit. He is known as Shahenshah of Bollywood and people also know him by the name Big B.

Zanjeer is the movie which changed the trend of Indian Cinema from Romantic to Action. The film was Superhit in Box Office and started a new wave in Hindi Cinema. Amitabh Bachchan played a role of Inspector Vijay Khanna and since appeared in several movies with the same character name. After this movie, Amitabh was known as ‘The Angry Young Man‘.

Yash Chopra’s Deewaar was another Superhit movie of Amitabh Bachchan career. Deewaar received Filmfare Best Movie Award of 1975 and 4th Highest grossing Bollywood film of 1975. It is a story of two brothers Vijay and Ravi played by Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor respectively. Indiatimes ranks Deewaar amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films.

Who doesn’t know about this Film? Directed by  Ramesh Sippy, Sholay declared as the Film of the Millennium by BBC in 1999. Amitabh and Dharmendra played the role of Jai and Veeru. Dialogues, Songs, and Characters in this movie is still very popular.  Certain scenes and dialogues from the film earned iconic status in India, such as “Kitne aadmi the” (How many men were there?), “Jo dar gaya, samjho mar gaya” (One who is scared is dead), and “Bahut yaarana laagta hai” (Looks like you two are very close) – all dialogues of Gabbar Singh played by Late Amjad Khan. Sholay is considered to be one of the greatest Indian films of all time.

Don was the third-highest grossing Bollywood movie of 1978 and was classified a golden jubilee by Box Office India. Amitabh played the dual role of Don and Vijay in this movie. Amitabh received Filmfare Award for the Best Actor for Don.
