9. Mohabbatein (2000)
Mohabbatein is notable for being the first time that Bachchan and Khan appeared on-screen together. The film was declared as the Blockbuster and Amitabh Bachchan received Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Mohabbatein was the second highest grosser of the year domestically, it was the highest-earning Hindi film of 2000 overseas. His character ‘Narayan Shankar’ became very popular.
10. Black (2005)
Black, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali gave Amitabh Bachchan his second National Film Award for Best Actor and fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Indiatimes Movies ranks the movie amongst the 25 Must See Bollywood Films. Amitabh played a role of a teacher who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
11. Paa (2009)
Paa is based on a rare genetic condition known as progeria and places emphasis on a father-son relationship. Amitabh and Abhishek, in real life, are father and son respectively, but in Paa, they played opposite roles. Amitabh received third National Film Award for Best Actor and fifth Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
12. Piku (2015)
Piku gave Amitabh Bachchan his fourth National Film Award for Best Actor and third Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. Piku was declared as Superhit Movie of the year 2015. His character ‘Bhaskor Banerjee’ was highly appreciated by the critics.
13. Pink (2016)
Pink, a courtroom drama released in 2016 and it has been considered as the most successful solo film for Amitabh Bachchan in recent times. Amitabh played a character of lawyer ‘Deepak Sehgal’. The film revolves around how Deepak fights and wins the girls’ case against the influential boys. Pink received the very positive response from both the audience and critics.
