In Nagaland, a massive boulder that crashed on a car following a landslide resulted in two fatalities and three injuries. The automobile parked just behind the one that was crushed had a dashboard camera that caught the awful collision. To learn more about it, keep reading.
The Tragic Incident
According to the news agency PTI, the event took place on National Highway 29 close to the Old Chumoukedima police checkpoint in Nagaland during a period of severe rain.

On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 5 o’clock, a queue of automobiles was waiting on the Kohima-Dimapur highway when the boulder rolled down the slope and hit the side of a black car, smashing it immediately. As it kept rolling, it knocked over another vehicle that was parked next to the black vehicle. The three automobiles that were hit by the stones became a pile of metal as a result of the accident’s impact.
People Injured In Nagaland Incident
They stated that one person died on the scene. The other died due to their injuries while being treated at the Referral Hospital. According to authorities, the three injured are being treated at the hospital. Police said one individual was still trapped inside one of the automobiles and that efforts were on to free him.
Nagaland CM Tweets
In a tweet, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio expressed his condolences for the loss of life. He stated that the area where the tragedy occurred is known as “pakala pahar.” It is known for landslides and rockfalls. He tweeted,

The chief minister declared that his administration is making every effort to get injured people the emergency care and medical attention they require. The relatives of each victim would also receive financial support in the amount of Rs. 4 lakhs. CM stated in a thread.
“The State Govt. will continue to pursue with the GoI & @nhidcl to take immediate steps for safety infra. at the dangerous locations all along the highway. It concerns the life & safety of our citizens. The agency concerned must put the required safety infrastructure in place.”
He continued,
“With the advancement of technology in India and the resources available to the GoI, there should be no compromise in ensuring the safety of our citizens.”
