Is your vehicle 3 years old? Is your vehicle’s FASTag linked with a mobile number? Well, don’t worry we were just informing you about new rules. The revised FASTag regulations will take effect on August 1. FASTag is a process designed to update toll payments and lessen traffic at toll booths. New rules have been announced by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). These highlight the national electronic toll collection system Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. It has introduced many regulations but the new KYC requirement is crucial.
New FASTag Rules From August 1, 2024
- 5-year-old FASTags must be replaced.
- After purchasing a new vehicle updating the registration number within 90 days is necessary.
- Uploading clear photos of the car’s front and side is a new and necessary regulation.
- 3-year-old FASTags must need an updated KYC.
- Companies that provide FASTag must verify their databases
- Linking the vehicle registration number and chassis number with FASTag will be compulsory
- It must also be linked to a mobile number
Businesses that provide FASTag services have until October 31 to finish the KYC procedure for any FASTags issued three to five years ago. The process starts on August 1. In compliance with NPCI requirements, customers should ensure their KYC is updated throughout this period. The new Rules state that KYC needs to be finished by October 31.
