5. Crowdsource
Allow some of the training to be flexible and crowdsource the topics. Ask people what they want to learn and build a presentation around it. You can do this before the offsite to prepare better and engage with them even before the training starts.
You can also use this tactic to come up with the training location as well as work out the other details.
6. Include Group Discussions
During the training, have group discussions as part of the activities to let people talk and exchange information. This is also a great way to break down the training and allow people who are natural leaders to emerge and take charge of the conversation.
7. Team Building Activities
Include some well-liked activities as well as some unique ones like a survival class that forces everyone to think outside of the box. You can also involve some CSR with a trash pickup activity or something creative like painting a mural. You can also have teams present what they learned in unique ways to wrap up the event.
To really propel the innovation process, have a team activity that forces everyone to put on their thinking caps and figure out a way to solve a problem. You can also have teams in escape rooms where they have to work out the clues together in order to escape. By allowing for such deep thinking, you can emerge with a deeper understanding of how the team functions and also see individual abilities.
A corporate offsite is also the best way to judge an employee’s satisfaction levels. In a casual setting, it is easier to gauge how satisfies an employee is and also work out ways to boost morale in the traditional office setting. Offsite training is an excellent way to give the employees a break while allowing them to still learn new things.
