Nothing Phone 1, one of the most awaited smartphones of 2022, is launched. After weeks of teasers and hype, Nothing Phone 1 was launched in many markets, including India, on Tuesday. The Nothing Phone 1 is the London-based company’s first smartphone. It has an unusual design and a transparent back panel. This will help the Glyph Interface, which uses LED strips and lets users select specific light patterns for alerts and more. In addition, the device features a 4.500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, a 6.55-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, and 50-megapixel dual rear cameras.

Display

A 6.55-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection is featured on the dual-SIM (nano) Nothing Phone 1. It runs Android 12. The back of the smartphone also has Corning Gorilla Glass. Other display characteristics include support for HDR10+, a pixel density of 402 PPI, and a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC and can support up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Camera

The Nothing Phone 1 features two 50-megapixel dual cameras for optics. The first 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor has an f/1.88 aperture lens and both optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). Samsung JN1 is the second 50-megapixel sensor and comes with an ultra-wide-angle lens with a /2.2 aperture. It has 114 degrees of field of view, EIS image stabilization, and a Macro mode. In addition, the phone has several features, including Scene Detection, Panorama Night Mode, Extreme Night Mode, and Expert Mode. A 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with a /2.45 aperture lens is located on the front of the device for selfies and video calls.

Battery

A 4,500mAh battery inside the Nothing Phone 1 supports 33W cable charging, 15W Qi wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging.

Storage

The built-in storage capacity of the Nothing Phone 1 is up to 256GB UFS 3.1.

Other Specifications

The smartphone offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6 Direct, Bluetooth v5.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, and a USB Type-C connector as connectivity options. Onboard sensors include a fingerprint sensor built into the display, an accelerometer, an electronic compass, a gyroscope, a light sensor, and a proximity sensor. The Nothing Phone 1 also has three microphones, dual stereo speakers, IP53 dust and water protection, and facial recognition that works with face covers. In addition, users may customize the lighting effects for certain contacts and other alerts on the phone’s back using the Glyph Interface. The company will provide 4 years of security updates and 3 years of Android upgrades (every 2 months).

The top-of-the-line edition with 12GB RAM + 256GB configurations is Rs. 38,999, while the price for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option is Rs. 35,999. From 21 July at 7:00 p.m., Flipkart will sell the Nothing Phone 1 in Black and White.
