Paris Hilton began a fund drive to financially assist families with young children who had been homeless due to the big fire in the Palisades area of Los Angeles. However, despite her house in Malibu also being destroyed by the fire, she contributed $100,000 through the Community Organized Relief Ear (CORE) organization, founded by Ann Lee and Sean Penn. She also promised to provide up to $100,000 more in matching funds to other donors.
LA Wildfire Left Many Homeless
The money will also be spent on food, clothing, temporary housing, and assisting animal shelters across the island for those affected by the blazes. It is certain that Paris Hilton felt the need to unite to assist these families in getting back on their feet. The Palisades fire was one of the most horrific fire disasters in Los Angeles, burning more than 12,300 homes and forcing 180,000 people to evacuate. Unfortunately, 11 people died, and many stars, including Paris, were left without homes altogether.
Paris Hilton has joined other celebrities in contributing to the fight to assist victims of wildfires. For example, Jamie Lee Curtis donated $1 million to help the victims.
What Exactly Happened?
The Palisades Fire, which started on Tuesday, has razed parts of the Pacific Palisades and Los Angeles, and celebrities such as Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Mandy Moore, and Anthony Hopkins have been affected. It has already taken the lives of five people, and at least 10,000 buildings have been burnt down due to the wildfire. Yet, as conditions deteriorate, thousands of people have had to flee, abandoning their homes and possessions.
Paris Hilton’s intention echoes broader charity campaigns from celebrities to support the victims of wildfires, with Jamie Lee Curtis being among the high-profile personalities who have offered $1 million for the cause.
Paris Hilton Returned To Her Malibu Home
On Friday, Paris Hilton took to Instagram and shared a video sharing a glimpse of her return to her Malibu home. Standing amidst the ashes of what was once her home, she described the scene as “heartbreaking.” She wrote, “When I first saw the news, I was completely shocked—I couldn’t process it. But now, standing here and seeing it with my own eyes, it feels like my heart has shattered into a million pieces. This house wasn’t just a place to live—it was where we dreamed, laughed, and created the most beautiful memories as a family. It was where Phoenix’s little hands made art that I’ll cherish forever, where love and life filled every corner.” she said; it felt like an unimaginable loss.
Adding to this, she also wrote, “As a mom, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies, so I’m launching an emergency fund through my nonprofit 11:11 Media Impact to support displaced families with young children. I’m starting with a personal contribution of $100,000 and will be matching additional dollars raised to $100,000 more. I am looking for others to donate and match alongside me to do our part.“
