Soon, pod taxis, trams, and city buses will change Noida’s public transportation after PM Modi introduced the RAPIDX train by the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). After the Uttar Pradesh state cabinet gives its approval, the entire plan will be put into action.
Plans To Operate Trams
Along with the previously announced proposal to operate pod taxis in Yamuna Authority’s industrial and residential areas, extensive preparations are currently being made to carry out the plan to operate trams in these areas as well. In this regard, the Uttar Pradesh government has received the comprehensive project report on pod taxis from the Yamuna Authority; construction on the project won’t begin until it has been approved.
Officials from the Yamuna Authority stated that they are researching several cities to arrange the operation of city buses and trams in their residential and industrial areas. People will be able to go inexpensively and hassle-free from every block in the sector thanks to these transportation options. Yamuna Authority has created a proposal to operate city buses, trams, and pod taxis to improve transportation options.
Yamuna Authority Announces The Trams Connectivity
According to Yamuna Authority, each sector’s blocks will be connected by city bus service, and trams will run along every road that is 30 meters wide. A DPR for pod taxis in residential areas has already been prepared, in addition to the industrial and Film City sectors.
In this sense, over 3,000 businesses have received land allocations from the Yamuna Authority, some of which have begun operations here. There will be jobs for roughly 2.5 to 3 lakh people in the vicinity after the enterprises opened. Yamuna Authority has already started preparing to upgrade the inadequate transportation infrastructure in Noida and Greater Noida.
Metro Corridor To Be Introduced
In addition, the Yamuna Authority stated that it has produced a DPR for constructing a metro corridor connecting the railway station in New Delhi with Noida Airport. Interestingly, the new metro corridor will stretch for roughly 77 km. The Aqua Blue Line Corridor is now being surveyed; following this, the tendering procedure will begin.
One hundred minibuses (about nine meters in length) will begin service from the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) City Bus Depot in Sector-90. The Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation announced that it has finalized 37 routes for the operation of PM e-bus service, and the Noida Authority has finished preparations for it.
