Another area in which Waves keeps up with the Digital India mission is bridging the digital divide. From distant rural corners, BharatNet, the government’s rural broadband initiative, has connected them and given them access to the Waves.

Sanjay Jaju, Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, underlined how the app makes content more democratized. He remarked, “Waves is a milestone that reflects our commitment to inclusivity, education, and cultural preservation.”

Navneet Kumar Sehgal, Chairman of Prasar Bharati, called the platform a “one-stop hub” for family-friendly entertainment, education, and cultural enrichment.

Empowering Young Creators

A unique move by Waves would be to support young and emerging talent and collaborate with young content creators and National Creator Awardees, such as Kamiya Jani or RJ Raunac, while offering a platform for showcasing student films and creative works and building a bridge between creators and the audience, further enriching its diverse offerings.

The platform also integrates social awareness campaigns, such as a cybersecurity initiative in collaboration with CDAC, making Waves more than just an entertainment app.
