Pune Porsche Case: Doctor Who Switched Samples Runs A ‘Blood Cleaning’ Racket

Heniuos accidents of car crash have always shook the world to its core. One such accident that occurred in Pune had furious the entire world. Early on May 19, in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune, a high-speeding Porsche car, driven by a 17-year-old boy, struck a motorcycle carrying two IT professionals. As the case was taken further due to massive public attention and outrage, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar alleged that the samples of the teen’s blood were thrown out and substituted with samples from another person that did not contain alcohol. The Pune Porsche Accident

19 May 2024 was the day when the streets of Pune witnessed the horror. The horror of the death of a couple just because a 17-year-old was badly intoxicated while driving his Porsche. The car was traveling at a very high speed killing the lady on the spot. The man died later while receiving the treatment. The Pune Police claimed that the boy was intoxicated at that time. Reports and videos show how moments before the ugly accident the boy, Vedant, was spotted at a bar. He was allegedly celebrating the results of his class 12th board examination. The bar where he drank around Rs 50,000 of booze was not registered.

 

Tawade’s Cruel Act

Head of Sassoon Hospital’s Forensic Medical Department Dr. Ajay Tawade was detained in connection with a case where a minor’s blood sample was substituted with his mother‘s to make sure no alcohol was detected. According to the Pune Crime Branch, Dr. Tawade has performed similar acts. He committed the acts when drunk drivers ran people over and killed them. To avoid a lesser fee, his brokers, who were dispersed around Pune and four other districts in Western Maharashtra, would offer to exchange blood samples for clean ones.

“The brokers would demand lakhs for the service, usually above ₹ 5 lakh, and the money would be funneled to Dr Tawade, with them keeping a cut, a source revealed.

Dr. Tawade, a well-known figure in Maharashtra’s forensic department, has been accused of drug cases and kidney transplant rackets. He was appointed to the role on the advice of a minister and an MLA. In a letter sent last month, MLA Sunil Tingre of the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP and Maharashtra Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif requested that Dr. Tawade be appointed as the department’s head. In addition, MLA Tingre was charged with going to the Yerwada police station following the Porsche accident and exerting pressure on the authorities to drop the case. Soon after disclosing this, Mr. Kale, the dean of Sassoon Hospital, was placed on mandatory leave.

 

Three-Member Committee Conducting Inquiry For The Pune Porsche Accident

A three-person committee that is looking into claims that a young driver involved in a Porsche accident had his blood samples manipulated paid a visit to Sassoon General Hospital and had meetings with police officers. In the case of the family driver’s kidnapping, the 17-year-old driver’s father was placed under police remand until May 31. Earlier in the day, the Sassoon Hospital welcomed the delegation led by Dr. Pallavi Sapale. Dr. Pallavi is the dean of the Grant Medical College and JJ group of hospitals. The committee also went to the Pune crime branch office, now handling the accident case.

“We will submit our observations to the state government and it is the prerogative of the government as to what action it wants to take,” Dr Sapalestated. “We have been directed by the government to submit the report at the earliest,” she continued.
