13. Himalayan Tahr
Himalayan Tahr is a wild goat found in the snowy mountain ranges of the Himalayas. This wild goat is listed as near threatened on the IUCN Red List; due to the decline in their population because of hunting and habitat loss.
14. Snow Leopard
Snow leopards are one of the world’s most elusive cats also known as an ounce. It is listed as vulnerable on IUCN Red List due to their decrease in population. There are less than 10000 mature individuals remaining. Snow Leopards can thrive in the most extreme environments. They are mostly found in the high-altitude protected areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh.
15. Dugong
The dugong is the medium size marine animal. They are referred to as sea cows. The Dugong diet is mostly sea-grass and is found in warm coastal waters of the Indian Ocean. It is the only strictly herbivorous marine mammal. As per the last survey in 2013, there are just 250 dugongs remain in the Indian seas. The IUCN lists the dugong as a species vulnerable to extinction. The dugong is found mostly in the Palk Bay, Gulf of Mannar, Gulf of Kutch and Andaman and Nicobar islands.
16. Gee’s Golden Langur
Gee’s Golden Langur simply known as Golden Langur is an Old World Monkey that is a highly endangered species found in the Black Mountains of Bhutan and western Assam. Golden Langur is one of the most endangered primate species of India. It has been observed that their fur changes colors according to the seasons. During winter it is dark golden chestnut, while more cream-colored during summer. It is on the verge of extinction. There are just hundreds of golden langurs remaining. It can be seen in the buffer areas of the Manas Tiger Reserve and in some villages around the town of Jorhat in Assam.
