Throughout childhood, we all have cherished Tom and Jerry, cow and Chicken, or the Powerpuff Girls. But, there’s always been some characters in the shows which are unrecognizable to us. Let’s have a look at those characters.
1. Tom And Jerry
The brazen pair of Tom And Jerry was always seen running around the house, creating havoc for Mammy Two Shoes. She often chased the mischievous animals, but her face remains a mystery. We only saw the bottom of her legs throughout.
2. Cow And Chicken
The two animals were siblings living in a house rather than a farm. There isn’t enough time to figure out how the animals were siblings. So, let’s move on to their parents. Who, more surprisingly, were human beings? We often saw two pairs of legs, one in a spotted skirt and the other in a green pair of trousers.
3. The Powerpuff Girls
Who is not familiar with the famous cartoon trio? The three sisters are loved by everyone who has watched them. The mayor’s secretary and deputy, Ms. Bellum, was a person who never got a close-up look. Her long red hair always obscured her face. This makes her an enigma to the spectators.

Many of these cartoons were shown from the perspective of animals or kids. Therefore, if they looked straight ahead, they won’t be able to see the faces of the adults but their lower halves. Further, another reason for keeping the characters’ faces out of the frame was that they were rarely spotted in the shows.
So the cartoonists didn’t have to construct a face for them. Moreover, the final possibility is that the children may struggle to keep track of all the faces. By hiding some faces, the attention remains on the show’s stars.
