He was sold to Lucknow Super Giants at a whopping Rs 27 crore. Rishabh Pant missed the IPL 2023 due to a car accident. He made a comeback in this year’s IPL 2024. Rishabh led the Delhi Capitals in 2024 and has been associated with the franchise since 2016. Now in IPL 2025, he is expected to lead Lucknow Super Giants.

The mega auction happens every three years. Rishabh Pant will get Rs 27 crore every year for the next three-year cycle. He will have a tax deduction of Rs 8.06 crore per year that he will have to pay to the Indian Government. After deduction, his total income will be around Rs 18.9 crore per season over the three-year contract with Lucknow Super Giants.

Rishabh Pant’s professional income will face a 30% tax, amounting to Rs 8.06 crore. With earnings over Rs 5 crore, there is a 37% surcharge, then the total tax jumps to Rs 11.04 crore. After adding a 4% health and education cess, his total tax liability stands at Rs 11.48 crore. This means Rishabh Pant’s in-hand salary will be approximately Rs 15.52 crore. If he avails deductions, his in-hand amount can increase.

 

What If Rishabh Pant Gets Injured?

If Rishabh Pant gets injured during the IPL Season, he will still receive his entire salary. However, if he sustains the injury before the tournament, the franchise is allowed for a replacement. In such circumstances, foreign players are not compensated if they get injured before the tournament. However, Indian players are compensated with their entire salary if injured on national duty through the insurance policy that BCCI has for players.

 

What If A Player Does Not Play A Single Match?

Even if Rishabh Pant does not play a single match in IPL 2025, he will still be entitled to the full salary for the season. But if he withdraws for personal reasons, he will be paid for the number of matches he played. According to the contract if a player gets injured during the tournament he will be liable for the full amount.
