Hotmail got a lot of popularity and later in 1997, Microsoft acquired it for $400 million equivalent to Rs 2,950 crore today. Sabeer Bhatia later disclosed that even after getting so much popularity he accepted the deal with Microsoft because he and his partner Jack lacked resources. Hence, for him, it was a smart decision.

Sabeer Bhatia was born on December 30, 1968, in a Sindhi Hindu Family. In 2008 he married Tanya Sharma. However, the couple divorced in 2013. Sabeer and Bhatia had a daughter after the marriage, named Arianna.
Sabeer Bhatia holds a net worth of approximately Rs 1660 crore. In 1997, After selling Hotmail, Bhatia worked at Microsoft for about a year before moving on to new ventures. In 2001, a rivalry between Bhatia and actor Salman Khan over actress Aishwarya Rai. Salman allegedly confronted Bhatia at a party, asking if he intended to marry Aishwarya Rai.
