Science has given shape to the world, it is hard to consider this much easy life if those scientists had not gone through extreme conditions to invent or discover new things. Hence, today we have brought you some scientists that died because of their own inventions.

 

1. Max Valier – Solid And Liquid Fueled Rockets

The Austrian scientist, Max Valier invented solid and liquid-fueled missiles. Feeling the triumph, the scientist tried to make a rocket-propelled car. However, things did not go smoothly and he ended up accidentally burning himself with his workshop.

 

2. Alexander Bogdanov – Blood Transfusion

The Russian Physician, Alexander Bogdanov invented the philosophy of “Tectology”. He used himself as the test subject but he had to pay a heavy toll which was his life.

 

3. Otto Lilienthal

Otto Lilienthal is known as the glider king. Moreover, he made 2000 successful flights with the glider. However, he died on 10 August 1896 when he was experimenting with weight shift during his flights.

 

4. William Bullock – Rotary Printing Press

William Bullock invented the printing press in 1863. Moreover, his invention brought a revolution. Unfortunately, his own invention killed him accidentally back in 1867 when he was adjusting that.

 

5. Abu Nasr Ismail ibn Hammada-Jawhari – Feather Wings

Human found their motivation for flying from the birds. Similarly, Abu Nasr took the matter into his own hands and he made Feather-covered flying wings that turn out to be a failure and eventually cost him his life.

 

6. Thomas Midgley Jr – Leaded Petrol

The American chemist, Thomas Midgley invented leaded petrol and CFCs.  For chronically being in contact with the leaded petrol, he got affected by the poison and died after brief suffering.

 

7. Franz Reichelt – Coat Parachute

Parachute is quite useful as it provides security for everyone. However, the parachute coat took the life of its inventor. Yes! You have heard it right, Franz Reichelt Died while he experimented with the coat parachute.

 

8. Marie Curie – Radium

The French-Polish physicist and chemist, Marie Curie is known as the discoverer of radium and radioactivity. She and her husband Pierre won the Noble Prize in 1903.
