A group of women was selected to seduce businessmen and eventually get pregnant; blackmailing these men to invest in North Korea and even shift there. They were forced to pose as guides or translators, so they could eventually win the affection of these men.

Most women undergo plastic surgery to meet beauty standards, often falling prey to infections and botched surgeries. With healthcare and technology being far behind than the rest of the world, unqualified surgeons carry out most of these procedures at home.
8. Menstruation Is A Sin
In North Korea, menstruating is considered sinful. Most women do not even have access to sanitary conditions and tampons, etc. which they require during this natural process. They are forced to wash out their clothes and sheets in the middle of the night so that people don’t notice them and the authorities do not punish them for this deplorable process.
9. Riding Bikes Is Improper
It is seen as a shameful act for a young girl to be riding a bicycle because girls are not seen worthy of childhood activities, initially designed for boys. Living in a patriarchal society, this is not unusual for people in North Korea but us, it seems a bit rather too, extreme.
10. Salary Is Not Needed
Most women are told to be doctors, engineers, and choose other professions, which are considered more respectable in North Korean society. The truth is. However, most women don’t get that far because of the patriarchal system and end up as factory workers or farmers, working for long hours, without pay.
