Legendary Actor Shashi Kapoor Passed Away At The Age Of 79

A very sad news came for the entire country as Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor passed away. The legend was admitted at the Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai, yesterday reportedly for a chest infection, where he breathed his last. Shashi Kapoor acted more than 175 movies national and international altogether.

Shashi Kapoor was the youngest son of Prithviraj Kapoor and younger brother of legendary Raj Kapoor. It’s a massive blow not just for the Bollywood every cine lover. Shashi Kapoor was critically acclaimed for his acting. Shashi’s contribution was significant not just in mainstream cinema but in theatre and art films too. In fact, he met his wife Jennifer Kendall through his theatre activities. Jennifer was a theatre actor and the daughter of Geoffrey Kendal who owned a theatre company called Shakespearana.

During 80’s and 90’s, he has worked in some famous movies like Deewar, Namak Halal, and Silsila. In an interview, Sanjna Kapoor, daughter of Shashi Kapoor acknowledged that Her Father had a deep attachment to Theatre and it was in his blood. 

Shashi Kapoor and wife Jennifer founded the Prithvi Theatre, which is today the heart of Mumbai’s thriving theatre scene.

Shashi used to do his love scenes very fluently. His dialogue delivery and realistic acting distinguish him from other actors. 

Reports from the hospital came and has been told that he was unwell since few months and took his last breath at 5:20 PM. This year we lost many legend actors like Om Puri, Vinod Khanna and Reema Lagoo.
