North Korea launched a ballistic missile called the Hwasong-12 towards Northern Japan that led to a sharp rise in tensions.
The mock attack came after President Donald Trump said it was becoming clear that words would not resolve the Korean conflict.
In a joint operation launched by the South Korean and American governments and to give a clear signal to Kim Jong Un government, that threats are not taken lightly in this modern cold war, the bombs were dropped just outside the North Korean territory.
After the North Korean arms display, four American F-35B Fighter jets joined two ‘nuclear ready’ American B-1B Fighter Bombers were also launched immediately.
The region was bombarded with explosions which could be heard for miles between both the North Korean and South Korean borders.
The US bombers dropped MK-84 bombs, which are general purpose bombs of war that forms a crater around 50 feet wide. The bombs are the largest in the Mark-80 series, being used throughout the Vietnam and Iraq wars.
North Korea has been test-firing missiles at a rapid clip this year. The bomber flights have become a common response to North Korean actions but the dropping off bombs is seen as an escalation by the US.
