India has been placed in Group A for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will take place in June, along with Pakistan, the hosts USA, Ireland, and Canada. India will play its first match against Ireland on June 5. It is known that in the T20 World Cup held in 2022, India and Pakistan met at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Stadium. T20 World Cup: The Format

India will play all its league matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the US.

The USA and West Indies will share co-hosting duties for the T20 championship, which takes place from June 1 to June 30. The teams are divided into 4 groups with 5 teams each.

Group A: India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA

Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman

Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, Papua New Guinea

Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands

All Group A matches, including the encounter between India and Pakistan at Eisenhower Park in New York, will take place in the United States.

T20 World Cup 2024 Schedule

India’s campaign will commence against Ireland on June 5. India vs Pakistan is scheduled for June 9. The last time India and Pakistan faced off in a T20 World Cup was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2022. In that match, both sides delivered an incredible display of sportsmanship, with Virat Kohli leading the Rohit Sharma-led team to a historic victory.

From the four groups, 2 teams from each group will be qualified for the Super 8 round. It is followed by the Semi-final and final. The top two teams from each group will next move on to the Super 8. Further, a second round of competition with eight teams split into two pools of four. The teams will be divided into groups based on their pre-tournament seedings, with Group 1 consisting of A1, B2, C1, and D2. While the Group 2 will have A2, B1, C2, and D1. Here is the schedule.
