Tennis balls can also be turned into tape balls that are comparable to professional cricket balls. The tape ball may be produced by wrapping some electric tape around it. It is going to have a similar bounce and swing as a professional cricket ball. However, the tape ball is going to be used only once. To promote street game cricket in India, the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) T10 will be organized beginning March 7, 2024, where players who have not had the luxury of playing professional cricket can participate.
What Is Tape Ball Cricket?
Tape ball cricket is well-known for its simplicity, creativity, and emphasis on “making the most of what you have.” It is played by millions of people, primarily in Pakistan but also in India, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and other cricketing nations. While the game of tape ball cricket includes rules, they are contested, varied, and eclectic, depending on where you play and how you play.
What makes the game intriguing and thrilling is that it allows cricket players and spectators who do not have the luxury of having a cricket ball, pitch, wickets, or kit to purchase a bat, a tennis ball, and some tape and play their favorite game.
In terms of rules, tape ball cricket is precisely the opposite of what rules are supposed to be. It was created on the streets. It is simple and requires very little setup time to start playing.
