The first Indian airline to provide free Wi-Fi on foreign flights is Vistara. Travelers on foreign flights will have complimentary 20 minutes of Wi-Fi, according to the joint venture airline of Singapore Airlines and Tata. Tata Sons Private Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited jointly own Vistara. The airline has seven Boeing 787 9 Dreamliners, ten Airbus A321neo, and fifty-three Airbus A320neo in its fleet. Since launching its operations in 2015, the airline has carried more than 65 million passengers.

The company stated in a statement that 20-minute Wi-Fi access is perfect for people who want to buy extended Wi-Fi plans using Indian credit/debit cards and will keep travelers connected in all cabins.
Airbus A321neo and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will both be eligible to use the service. Vistara claims that it will make it possible for users to send themselves one-time passwords, making it easier for users to purchase extended in-flight Wi-Fi while the flight is in progress. The cost of internet browsing on these flights is Rs 1,577.54 + GST. It further includes streaming music and videos on the internet and social media. According to Vistara, unlimited data that supports all streaming protocols is offered for Rs 2707.04 + GST. The airline announced that Business Class and Platinum Club Vistara members will receive an extra 50 MB of free Wi-Fi. Moreover, unrestricted data access for non-members will cost Rs 372.74 + GST.
