The BCCI announced the selections for the West Indies tour on Friday, where the Indian team will compete in two Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and a five-match T20 International series beginning July 12. Young talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and pacer Mukesh Kumar are added for the very first time to India’s Test squad, but seasoned players like Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohammed Shami are omitted.

“The Men’s Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series and three ODIs against the West Indies. India is also scheduled to play five T20Is, and the squad for the same will be announced later,” the BCCI stated in a statement.
