11. Science Stream Is Superior
This misconception has turned out to be the ultimate mindset in several Indian households. It must be so as science students tend to learn and study a bit more than Commerce or Arts students. Also, Science students are not exposed to entertainment and don’t get time to practice their hobbies in most cases. So many parents push their kids to pursue success in this stream against their will. Whereas in other streams, it’s like sharpening your hobbies and learning to earn from them, and this makes some of us think that it cant be trusted in the long run, unlike in foreign countries, where kids tend to earn through their hobbies in most cases.
12. Creative Cooks
Indians are the best at making something cool and acceptable while limited by resources, famously known as ‘jugaad.’ In this case, it’s not surprising to munch on western dishes with Indian flavors. In India, there are numerous variations of Maggi noodles in Indian style.
13. Greetings Full Of Respect
Respecting elders is quite a tradition in India. Kids are taught to add respect prefixes before elders’ names and are taught to greet guests by touching the feet of their guests as ancient Indian tradition teaches us to respect and obey our guests like gods. This practice has been going on for ages and is not seen as weird all across India.
14. Shoe Stealing At Weddings
India is a country with vast traditions. Indian-style marriages are famous across the world. There are a lot of reasons behind it. The most famous of them is that Indian marriages are conducted strictly based on regulations that are present in Indian holy books that were written ages ago. The most famous of them may be the shoes stealing thing. When the marriage is almost complete, the pals from the bride’s side steal the groom’s shoes and demand money in exchange. It seems a bit modified from the ancient style and a bit weird too.
15. Oh C’mon, WWE Isn’t Real
This could be one of the most searched questions in Indian browsing history. India has a humongous fan base for WWE. And most of us misunderstand the feel and seriousness shown down there to be real and non-scripted. When we wake up and feel like we have grown up, and soon we get to know this, it’s a bit heartbreaking as it proves our childhood fantasies a lie.
These are the things that are common in India but not in foreign countries. Were you aware of them? Let us know in the comments below.
