1. Monopoly
Elizabeth Philips was an American game designer. Elizabeth Philips invented one of the famous board games called The Landlord’s Game which later became a game called Monopoly. She was granted a patent in the year 1904.
2. Wireless Transmission Technology
Hedy Lamarr was born on November 9, 1914, in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. She was an actress, inventor, and film producer. She co-invented the frequency-hopping spread spectrum to transmit radio signals. This invention pays the way for the development of secure wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth, which are currently used by billions of people worldwide. She was granted a patent for this invention in the year 1941.
3. Computer Algorithm
Ada Lovelace was an English mathematician and writer. She was well known for her work on Babbage’s Analytical Engine. She added notes while translating the French transcript of Babbage’s lecture given at the University of Turin. These notes are later become an algorithm for the Analytical Engine developed by Charles Babbage. It is considered the world’s first computer algorithm.
4. Hot Comb
Madam Walker invented the world’s first formula or hot comb for straightening curly hair. It was the big problem of African-Americans whose hair is always curled to its root.
