Recently, the internet has learned some fascinating details about Bengaluru delivery workers’ salaries via a YouTuber’s discussion with Swiggy and Zomato drivers. Speaking with two delivery agents in India’s IT hub, Loveena Kamath discovered that both of them make more money than the typical IT engineer. The YouTube interview has made the world aware of the income of delivery agents.

According to Kamath, the average monthly salary for an IT engineer in India is ₹20,000. The two delivery agents she spoke with, nevertheless, make more than twice as much money. Shiva is a delivery agent for Swiggy. He receives pay from Swiggy every month that ranges from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 for deliveries. Despite being only twenty-two, he has spent the previous three years working as a delivery agent. In addition to tips and incentives, Swiggy pays each rider ₹20 for every order, which is the basis of his income.

“I get around ₹5,000 a month from tips,” the Swiggy rider told Kamath.

Shiva has been able to save ₹2 lakh in the past six months. With this money, he intends to start a business in his community.

“I want to open a D-Mart. It will create employment opportunities for the people of my village,” he stated.

The YouTuber also had a conversation with Taiyappa, a Zomato delivery agent. He has been serving Zomato for three years. Taiyappa further acknowledged that his monthly salary is about ₹40,000.

In her interesting video, Kamath shares insights about how everyone today sees delivery work as a rewarding job. The team of her YouTube channel, Full Disclosure investigated the income of the agents. She made it clear that most delivery partners saw this as a way to make money rather than as a job that would lead to better chances. She also mentioned that delivery drivers must put in 12 to 13 hours of work every day in order to make this kind of pay.
