Top Rankings And Asian Dominance
Doha Hamad International Airport rising to the apex denotes its third win as the World’s Best Airport. Singapore’s Changi International Airport dropped to number 2 from number 1 last year. Asian airports keep on ruling the best positions, with Seoul Incheon getting the third spot and gaining recognition as the most family-friendly airport of 2024. Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports got the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Surprising Shifts And Notable Gains
Hong Kong International Airport encountered an exceptional surge, climbing 22 spots to secure the 11th spot, driven by increased passenger traffic post-pandemic. In the meantime, prominent US air terminals, including Seattle-Tacoma, struggled to keep up with their position, with Seattle slipping six spots to 24th.
European Excellence And Worldwide Trends
European airports maintained a strong presence in the rankings, with Paris CDG, Munich, Zurich, and Istanbul all getting positions in the best 10. Conversely, US airports confronted difficulties, with New York’s JFK tumbling to 93rd spot and LaGuardia ascending to 33rd.
Indian Airports At The Play
Among Indian airports, Delhi held its position at 36th, while Mumbai dropped to 95th from 84th last year. Bengaluru Airport climbed ten spots to 59th, and Hyderabad Airport rose to 61st.
