There are many renowned car manufacturing companies in India. Each year they come up with new variant and models to fulfill the needs and desires of the users. There is always a competition among these car manufacturers. Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers has disclosed their report about the number of cars exported by top Indian car manufacturers. From the report, it was revealed that Ford India is the top car exporters in India. So, let us browse through the list and see who make it to the top-ten list.

 

10. Honda Cars

The first manufacturing unit of HCIL started in 1997. There was a huge goal in front of them, which was to put their name in the top car manufacturers. 20 years later, the subsidiary of Honda of Japan has exported 3,392 cars this year and it has become the tenth highest car exporter of the year.

 

9. Mahindra And Mahindra

‘Mahindra And Mahindra’ has a wide range of business. Started as a steel trading company in 1945 now it has become one of the largest car producers in India. It generally produces SUVs, saloon cars, pickups, commercial vehicles, and two-wheeled motorcycles and tractors. Speaking about the cars, the company has exported 3,976 cars this year.

 

8.  Reno India

Reno India a.k.a Renault India entered the Indian market in February 2008 with the alliance of Nissan. In September 2008, Renault established its first vehicle design studio in India. Renault impresses everyone with the supreme designs and attractive looks in their vehicles. Continuing the success, it has exported 8,060 cars since January 2017.

 

7. Toyota Kirloskar

The subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan has been producing cars for last 20 years. It has entered its name as one of the largest car producers in India. Moreover, it has already exported 10,709 cars and become the seventh highest car exporter of 2017 in India.

 

6. Nissan Motors India

Founded in 2005, the subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd Japan has been making innovative and exciting products. To conclude the company is getting success in Indian market. People are pleased by their products. As an outcome, 41,628 cars have been exported by the company this year.

 

5. General Motors India

The company has been engaged in automobile production since 1995. This year it has exported 56,622 cars. Despite its successful run in India, General Motors announced that it will stop selling cars in India by the end of 2017, as a part of its global restructuring actions.

 

4. Volkswagen India

In 2007, Volkswagen came to India with a motto to rule the Indian market of automobiles. Due to its innovative and exciting products, the Volkswagen become one of the fastest rising names among the car producers. And after 10 years it has become the fourth highest car exporter. This year it has already exported 63,955 cars.

 

3. Maruti Suzuki

This is one of the biggest names among the car producers in India. As s of January 2017, it had a market share of 51% of the Indian passenger car market. Operating for last 36 years it has produced many popular cars such as Ciaz, Ertiga,  Wagon R, Alto, Swift, Celerio, Swift Dzire, Omni, Baleno and Baleno RS, Ignis. Furthermore, it has exported 79,181 units of the car in this year.

 

2. Hyundai Motor India

For the last 21 year, Hyundai Motor has been the top competition of Maruti Suzuki.  Before Hyundai arrived, Maruti Suzuki had the monopoly over the car market in India. After some struggle, Hyundai emerged as one of the top car producers in India. Moreover, this year Hyundai Motor beat Maruti Suzuki to get the second spot. It has exported 97,078 cars this year.

Ford India Pvt. Limited started production in 1926 as the subsidiary of Ford Motor Company of Canada. However, it failed to make the desired impact in the Indian market. To conclude, it was shut down in 1954. With a second wind, the company reentered the Indian market as Mahindra & Ford. Now it is the wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motors India. This year it has exported 1,12,404 cars and has eventually become the top car exporter of 2017.
