5. Kane Williamson: Sunrisers Hyderabad
The IPL 2018 Orange Cap winner, Kane Williamson will be looking forward to repeating his feat again this time. We all have seen the New Zealand captain take on the bowlers fearlessly. Moreover, Williamson has a certain flair about himself.
He is both a powerhouse and an anchor at the same time. We have seen him go after the ball right from the very first delivery he faces and at the same time, we know he is also capable of playing steady innings and building partnerships.
4. Rishabh Pant: Delhi Capitals
The 21-year-old young gun from India is all about strong and powerful hitting. He loves to strike the ball out of the ground, a proof of which we saw him hit his first runs in test cricket with a six and was also the very first Indian to do so.
The only thing that Pant needs to win the Orange Cap this year is a bit of focus. If he can concentrate and convert his promising starts into brilliant innings, Rishabh Pant can surely be a major contender for the Orange Cap this season and might very well end up winning it.
3. KL Rahul: Kings XI Punjab
The third batsman on our list is none other than K L Rahul. The 2018 IPL saw some blistering starts from Rahul. Not only he is a good batsman, but Rahul is also playing fearlessly, which gives him an added advantage. Rahul is going to take every opportunity that comes his way to prove his worth. We all are excited to watch some of Rahul’s power hitting in IPL 2019.
2. David Warner: Sunrisers Hyderabad
Returning from a year-long ban from cricket, David Warner would surely be eyeing some redemption. He is one of the two batsmen to have won the Orange Cap twice (2015 & 2017). And the way he bats, he sure gives the bowlers, a run for their money.
Furthermore, IPL is going to be all the practice Warner gets before he takes on the world stage at ICC Cricket World Cup. We can expect to see some exceptional batting from the Australian opener this season.
1. Virat Kohli: Royal Challengers Bangalore
It goes without saying that nowadays it’s just not possible to create a top run-scorer list and not have Virat Kohli on it. The Indian captain is the epitome of batting class. He starts playing a different game altogether whenever he is on a roll.
Kohli is beyond doubt, the best batsman in the world at the moment. This makes him more than qualified to earn the first position on our list. If King Kohli begins to fire this IPL, there is simply no stopping him from winning the Orange Cap.
