The Uttar Pradesh Government is set to provide a big opportunity for common people other than social media influencers. The social media policy gives them a chance to earn Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh per month. All you have to do is promote state governments’ different initiatives on social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and X.

The Uttar Pradesh government’s newly designed media policy allows to pay up to Rs. 8 lakh per month to an influencer to promote its scheme on different social media sites. They have also warned of legal action if any ‘objectionable content’ is put up on social media handles.

Depending on followers and subscribers on different social media platforms, the state government will pay up to Rs. 8 lakh per month to the user of the specific account holder.

The category-wise maximum payout limit for payments to account holders or operators or influencers of X, Facebook, and Instagram at Rs 5 lakh, Rs 4 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, and Rs 2 lakh per month respectively.

The payments to account holders operators or influencers are based on category. The category-wise maximum payout limit for videos, shorts, and podcast payments on YouTube has been fixed at Rs 8 lakh, Rs 7 lakh, Rs 6 lakh, and Rs 4 lakh per month respectively, it added.

According to digital media policy, digital sources such as X (previously known as Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube  will also be encouraged to showcase content, videos, shorts, posts, and reels based on schemes and procurement of the state government through listing the similar agencies or firms and issue advertisement.

The government of Uttar Pradesh makes it very clear that legal action will be taken against the operator of the social media account if any offensive, objectionable, and awful content is uploaded. The press note was signed by Principal Secretary Sanjay Prasad stating,

“In case of uploading such content, there is a provision for legal action against the concerned agency or firm as per the rules and regulations. Under no circumstances should the content be awful anti national or offensive.”
