Viral Video: Woman Swept Away By Wave In High Tide At Bandra Mumbai In Front Of Kids

A frightening video clip has gone viral online. A video has appeared online showing a woman getting carried away by a massive wave at Mumbai‘s Bandra bandstand while her children attempted to take photographs of their parents. To learn more about the unfortunate occurrence, keep reading.

At Mumbai’s Bandstand in Bandra, the 32-year-old lady, who has been identified as Jyoti Sonar, was washed away by a powerful wave while her husband and children helplessly watched. While this terrible event occurred, the couple was sitting on a rock, and their children were attempting to photograph a happy occasion. View the shocking footage that has gone viral.

The family had intended to visit Juhu Chowpatty on the day of the event, but due to high tide, they were unable to enter the beach. As a result, they altered their plans and chose to travel to Bandra.

When the family arrived at Bandra Fort, they moved closer to the water to take shots. The couple was seated on a rock, and their children were photographing them from a distance. A big wave overtook them and dragged Jyoti away. Children’s anguished cries of ‘Mummy’ can be heard in the footage, signaling that Jyoti drowned in just a matter of seconds.

 

Attempts To Save The Woman Were Made

Mukesh, a resident of Rabale in Mumbai, tried to hold  Jyoti’s saree in an unsuccessful attempt to save her. Bystanders rushed to grasp Mukesh’s feet and bring him back to safety. Moreover, witnesses to the incident quickly called the police. The police, together with authorities from the fire department, came quickly.

Jyoti Sonar drowned in the water near Bandra Fort on Sunday afternoon, prompting a search and rescue mission. Her corpse was retrieved by the Indian Coast Guard on Monday. Jyoti Sonar’s body was discovered and turned over to police, according to an official, who added that the body was brought to the civic-run Cooper Hospital.
