This is not just an ordinary flyover but a massive structure stretching for 5.6 km. Making it the longest of its kind in Asia. Even more interesting is that it has four different levels, like a giant layer cake made of concrete and steel. Here is what you will find on each level:
- Top Level: Metro Train Line
- Second Level: Road for Cars and Other Vehicles
- Third level: Railway Track
- Bottom Level: Regular Road
The flyover runs from LIC Square to Automotive Square on Kamptee Road, near the GaddiGodam Gurudwara in Nagpur. This location was carefully chosen to help resolve the traffic problem and make traveling easier for everyone.
Before this flyover was built, traveling between Kamptee and Nagpur Airport could be time-consuming. But now the structure will help people travel 20 km in 20 minutes. This huge improvement makes life easier for thousands of people every day.
This massive project was a team effort between two important organizations, the Maha Metro and the National Highway Authority of India. These organizations worked together to create this engineering master who is making history. This is not the first time Nagpur has been in the headlines for this impressive infrastructure; the city has already had India’s longest flyover, 3.14 km, where the Wardha flyover. With this new double-decker structure, Nagpur is developing seriously into a world-class structure.
