In Bengaluru, an Ola auto driver abused and slapped a woman after she canceled her ride. She booked her ride through an app. A video of the argument is being shared on social media. It shows the auto driver and the woman arguing. During the argument, the auto driver tried to snatch her phone.
Auto Driver Slapped A Woman In Bengaluru
In the video, a flustered cab driver tries to be aggressive while arguing with the woman. She even questioned why he was shouting. He responds to it by saying, “Tera baap deta hain kya gas ke paise? (Does your father pay me for the gas?)”.
Then the woman says she will be filing a police complaint, to which the driver replies that she can do whatever she wants to. After that, an auto driver slapped her. She also asked, “Why did he slap her?” Check out the video here.
In the video, you can see the violent driver trying to snatch her phone. He even insisted the lady go to the police station with him, but she refused. The video ended with the driver leaving the place. The video went viral on social media.
Auto Driver Has Been Arrested
Alok Kumar is the Additional Director General of Police Traffic and Road Safety. He replied to the post and said, “Such behavior is unacceptable. A few people like him give the auto drivers community a bad name. Have informed the concerned to take appropriate action.”
The auto driver was arrested by Magadi Road Police. Action is being initiated for the offense committed as per the law. Police said, “The driver has been arrested.” Demanding immediate action, a user wrote on social media platform X,
“Yesterday in Bangalore (Bengaluru), my friend and I booked two autos on Ola due to peak hours. I arrived first, so she canceled hers. The other auto driver followed us, furious. Despite explaining the situation, he started shouting and hurling abuse.”
Her further allegation on the driver was, “The driver went on to verbally assault us, questioning whether the auto belonged to my father and making derogatory comments. I began recording, which enraged him further. When I mentioned reporting him, he challenged me, showing no fear of consequences.”
The woman claimed that the driver tried to snatch her phone and even slapped her when she refused. She further alleged, “Despite this, he continued his threats, saying he’d beat me with his slippers too.”
Ola commented on the post, saying, “The incident ‘sounds quite alarming’ and will be investigated.”
