For those who are unaware, PM Modi is making an official visit to Italy during this year’s G7 summit, which is being held in the Italian city of Apulia. Previously, Meloni also congratulated PM Modi on his win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. PM replied by thanking her and assuring her of the commitment to deepening the India-Italy strategic partnership.

On Thursday night, PM Modi traveled to Apulia, Italy, late at night to take part in the G7 Outreach Summit.

PM Modi Views On G7 Summit

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Modi expressed his satisfaction at being pleased that his first state visit in the third consecutive term is to Italy for the G7 Summit. The Prime Minister additionally addressed his earlier visit to Italy and Prime Minister Meloni’s visits to India, both of which have made a big difference in strengthening bilateral relations.

“I am glad that my first visit in the third consecutive term is to Italy for the G-7 Summit. I warmly recall my visit to Italy for the G20 Summit in 2021. Prime Minister Meloni’s two visits to India last year were instrumental in infusing momentum and depth into our bilateral agenda. We remain committed to consolidating the India-Italy strategic partnership, and bolstering cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and the Mediterranean regions,” he stated.
