Watch: Rivaba, Ravindra Jadeja’s Wife, Engaged In An Argument With BJP Members

During a celebration of the 77th Independence Day, Rivaba Jadeja, a BJP politician and the wife of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, yelled at members of her party. The footage of the incident where Rivaba got into a verbal altercation with two other BJP politicians, MP Poonamben Maadam and Jamnagar municipal mayor Bina Kothari, was caught on camera. The two female leaders are shown in the viral video verbally arguing with Rivaba Jadeja, who represents Jamnagar (north) constituency in the Gujarat Assembly, even as police officers on the scene try to step in and defuse the situation. The Heated Argument

Rivaba is seen in the video fighting rudely with Bina Kothari and Poonamben. She is also seen using the word “aukat” (status) around them, which enrages the senior women leaders and escalates the situation. The three female leaders continue their contentious conversation in front of the press and other attendees while simultaneously posing for pictures. Rivaba alleged that Poonamben Maadam, a BJP MP, referred to her as “over smart” after the cricketer’s wife removed her shoes to show respect to the nation’s dead warriors on Independence Day. Rivaba stated,

“On the occasion of Independence Day, under ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh,’ firstly, MP Poonamben paid her respect to the fallen soldiers with her shoes on. Later, I took my shoes off and paid my respect. The other leaders did the same.”

Jadeja alleged that she overheard Poonamben calling her “over smart” and making fun of her as she removed her shoes in remembrance of the troops who gave their lives in the line of duty. She stated,

“I overheard Poonamben saying that even Prime Minister and President did not take off their shoes while participating in such events, but some people act over smart. I only spoke out to defend my self-respect.”
