Vande Bharat Express trains will soon have sleeper coaches. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Vande Bharat sleeper coach production at the Bharat Earth Movers Limited’s (BEML) facility in Bengaluru.
Ashwini Vaishnaw said Vande Bharat Express sleeper train is expected to be open for passenger operation in the next three months. The mock-up model of the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train was revealed.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach
The sleeper version of Vande Bharat Train will provide top features, including a built-in reading light. It will also have a USB charging port. The sleeping area of Vande Bharat has been designed by BEML. It comes with lots of features with stainless-steel construction.
It also provides us with advanced crash-worthy elements. Such as specially designed crash buffers and couplers. It will help to maximize passenger safety.
Total Berths In Vande Bharat Sleeper Coaches
The train coach comes furnished with the highest fire safety standards. It meets the stringent EN45545 HL3 grade requirements. In the country, the sleeper Class of Vande Bharat will be used for long-distance rail travel. It consists of 16 coaches. The coaches also include 11 AC three-tier, four AC two-tier, and one AC first. The total number of berths will be 611 in 11 AC three-tier coaches, 188 in 4 AC two-tier coaches, and 24 in AC first-class coaches.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach Advance Features
The sleeper class of Vande Bharat will be an upgrade. The train set has advanced features in every aspect, from its sleek front nose cone to interior panels, seats, sleeper berths, and more. BEML has played a key role in integrating essential systems. It includes electrical components, propulsion, bogies, exterior plug doors, brake systems, and HVAC. It ensures smooth coordination and peak performance throughout the trainset. The train can run at a top speed of 160 kmph.
The sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train will have top-grade features. It will have built-in lights, a USB portal, an announcement screen, security cameras, modular pantries, and special berths and toilets for disabled passengers.
The first AC coach in the sleeper section even includes a shower with hot water. It will make the journey even more comfortable for passengers. It will have a spacious luggage room. Different toilets for driving crew. Ashwini Vaishnaw said,

The much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper trainset is now set to run on Indian Railway tracks, providing our people with a world-class travel experience and best-in-class amenities. The dedication and expertise of BEML’s leadership and engineers have made this remarkable achievement possible.”
