According to reports, the Eurocopter EC135 helicopter crashed into an apartment complex along North Dixie Highway and Atlantic Boulevard. The family living in the building claims it smashed directly into their living room, hurting two people. The Broward Health Medical Centre is receiving at least four patients.

According to BSO officials, the helicopter crashed into a one-story apartment building at roughly 8.45 a.m. while en route to a scene in North Lauderdale. Two wounded crew members have been hospitalized as of right now. However, they are not in severe condition. News organizations have video of the pilots emerging from the rubble and ascending a ladder to safety. According to reports from the authorities, there were two victims, one inside the craft and the other on the ground.

Although the incident is still being investigated, there have been no reports on the crash’s reason. Several locals shared an event in which the helicopter looked to be losing control airborne before crashing, with smoke shooting out of its tail.

The helicopter is said to have taken off from the west side of the Pompano Beach Airpark, began to break down, and then crashed a short distance away, close to Blanche Ely High School, according to eyewitness testimony. Officials claim that just two minutes after takeoff, there was an engine failure, which caused the accident to occur.

When the incident happened, several witnesses reported hearing a huge explosion. Videos of the burnt helicopter parts embedded in the triplex roof have gone viral. As firefighters battled the ensuing incident, residents were evacuated. Authorities have closed the North Dixie Highway between Northeast Fifth Street and Northeast Tenth Street because of the incident, and fire rescue workers are still working to clean up the situation.
