Watch: Zomato CEO Stopped At Gurugram Mall Entrance During Order Pickup

Zomato CEO Deepindra Goyal claimed that the mall in Gurugram stopped him from using the lift while he was collecting his order. He was seen as a delivery partner with his wife Grecia Munoz. In his recent post, he shared that he had to take the stairs when he went to Ambience Mall to collect an order.

Deepinder Goyal Denied Access To Gurugram Mall While Collecting Order

He stated that during my second order, I realized we needed to work with malls. This will help to improve the working experience for all our delivery partners.  And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners. He shared this news on X with the video elaborating on his experience.

“We reached Ambience Mall in Gurugram to pick up the order from Haldiram’s. I was told to take the other entrance, and realized they were asking me to take the stairs. Went in again on the main entrance to make sure there aren’t any elevators for delivery partners.”

Recalling his experience, Goyal revealed that upon arriving at Ambience Mall to collect an order from Haldiram’s, he was told to use a different entrance. He added,

“Went back to the main entrance just to check if elevators were available for delivery partners, but there weren’t.”

Deepinder Goyal claimed he took the stairs to the third floor to realize that delivery partners cannot enter the mall and have to wait at the stairs to receive orders. He then chilled with his fellow delivery partners while waiting patiently for the order. In the clip, Goyal is seen sitting on the floor with his fellow delivery partners. Deepinder said he was finally able to sneak in to collect the order when the staircase guard took a small break.

“Chilled with my fellow delivery partners while also getting valuable feedback from them.”

Deepinder Goyal shared that he had taken the stairs to come to the third-floor level. He discovered that delivery partners cannot access the mall and basically, have to wait for the orders on the stairs. The Zomato CEO said that he spent some time chilling with his fellow delivery partners. He also took feedback from them; and then while the guard at the staircase was dozing off and thus temporarily asleep he finally got to collect the order.

In his post, many users commented that not just malls but also many societies have restrictions to not let delivery partners take the main lift. Last week we saw him riding on the streets of Gurugram while delivering orders.
