If you’re wondering what is ISRO‘s Pragyan Rover doing? Here’s your answer: India switched off its moon rover. The first craft to reach the lunar South Pole, after conducting its two-week assignment of conducting experiments, was shut down. Moreover, the Rover was put in Sleep Mode at 8:00 AM IST. However, the batteries and receiver were left on. Continue reading to learn more about the spacecraft.
Why Was Pragyan Rover Put In Sleep Mode?

The solar panel is oriented to receive the light at the next sunrise expected on September 22, 2023.
The receiver is kept on.
Hoping for a successful awakening for another set of assignments!
Else, it will forever stay there as India’s lunar ambassador.”
Moreover, both Vikram and the lander Pragyan would now be in sleep mode with ISRO, hoping they would return to life on September 22, when the Sun rises again on the Moon. Furthermore, between August 23 and Saturday, both Pragyan and Vikram Lander sent a repository of Science data. Some of this has been made public by ISRO.
How Will The Rover Wake-Up?
By landing on the Moon, India joined the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union. Moreover, Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing after a failed attempt in 2019 sparked widespread jubilation in the world’s most populous country.
Further, Pragyan has traveled over 100 m, confirming the presence of Sulphur, Iron, Oxygen, and other elements on the Moon. Moreover, now India is hoping for the success of a probe launched on Saturday to study the Sun. This would observe solar winds that cause disturbances on Earth. The disturbance is commonly known as auroras.
Pragyan Rover, sent to the Moon with the help of Chandrayaan-3, has been put in sleep mode. Moreover, ISRO scientists hope that the Rover will wake up with the next sunrise on the Moon. The studies have made India proud and a renowned name in science. What do you think about the topic discussed above? Which is your favorite ISRO mission?
